Statement

Tracing light across oceans — from Menorca to America — I create large-scale oil paintings that explore shifting skies, landscapes, and atmosphere between my two homes. My work seeks the spirit of light: fleeting, eternal, and always in motion, connecting places, seasons, and people across distance.

Rooted in the luminous landscapes of Menorca, where I have lived and worked for most of my life, my practice draws on the island’s silence, sea horizons, and ever-changing skies. Living in this meditative environment has allowed me to focus on light not only as a physical presence but also as an emotional and spiritual force.

Each canvas begins with observation — a passage of air, a flicker on the water, the stillness before movement but evolves through memory and imagination. What emerges is not a fixed record of place but an atmosphere, a meditation on time, where abstraction and landscape dissolve into one another.

My aim is not to dictate a narrative, but to open a contemplative space. The finished work invites viewers to linger, to experience light and colour as sensation, and to find their own reflection within the shifting surface.
