Inspired by a lifetime of travel memories, the artist shares with us an opportunity to reconnect with feelings of romance, love, curiosity and splendour for the natural world. Embedded in both the physical and psychological light on the canvases, the viewer is encouraged to observe similarities of emotions elicited by vastly different locations. Translating those observations into care and compassion for those who inhabit these places, by adopting a broader world view, is the subconscious suggestion. We are reminded to harness presence, linger inside beauty and create space for things that are larger than our individual selves.
Menorca Open Studio
Set within a converted seventeenth-century farmhouse at Biniarroca 55, Sant Lluís, the studio and gallery is the only venue in Menorca dedicated exclusively to the oil paintings of artist Lindsay Mullen.
Open May through November, the space invites visitors to experience her work in the atmosphere that inspires it. The surrounding wild gardens — with olive trees and Holm oaks — echo the peace and muted light of her landscapes, offering a glimpse into the spirit behind the paintings.
